Is progressive and drive insurance the same?

Your personal auto policy with Progressive can cover you while you're driving a rental car, up to the extent of the coverage you have for your own vehicle. For example, if you have comprehensive coverage for your car, that protection will extend to most rental vehicles. You can purchase two car insurance policies to insure two separate vehicles. However, buying two policies to insure the same vehicle may result in the automatic cancellation of one of them.

If you have a child who is going to an out-of-state college and has a car on campus, they may need a different car insurance policy for another state, depending on the state in which they are going to school. Nor is there a multi-state auto insurance policy that originates in two or more states. For example, if you buy through an agent or broker, the price of your car insurance includes the commission paid to the agent or broker who sells the policy. Drive Insurance is a Progressive West insurance company and is a member of the Progressive group of companies.

During your progressive quote, you won't be able to select car insurance coverages that don't apply to you. If you're currently insured with another insurance company, you can simply start a new policy with your new car. Since most insurers offer a grace period to update your policy with your new vehicle, your dealer will usually only need proof of insurance before giving you the keys. No matter where you live, your standard car insurance policy will normally cover you in all 50 states and Canada.

If it's been a few months since you received your quote, the rates in your area may have been revised, which could decrease or increase the price you pay for your car insurance policy. For example, if you live in Connecticut but work outside the state of New York, you would have an auto insurance policy in Connecticut, since the vehicle stays there overnight. You can change insurers at any time, even if you just renewed your policy with another insurance company. We charge a higher rate for customers who are more likely to file claims and a cheaper auto insurance rate for customers who are least likely to file claims.
